Plum Blossoms
Ornamental plum blossoms in bloom are a sure sign of spring in the Pacific Northwest.

Purple and White Bearded Iris
I saw this purple and white bearded iris in a friend's garden and knew it was something I wanted to draw.
Ink and watercolor.
Salmonberry
This is salmonberry from my garden. It’s a plant that looks like a yellow or orangey raspberry but doesn’t taste like it. The flowers surprisingly are bright fuchsia. It grows happily in the Pacific Northwest.

Forsythia Leaves in the Fall
These are some fall forsythia leaves from my garden that I drew with ink and watercolor. I love the color variation in each one. The original is 7” x 7”.
Nandina - Heavenly Bamboo
Beautiful nandina, or heavenly bamboo, in the fall. Not all of the leaves change color, but the ones that do get this glorious rich red color. Some of these leaves were done wet into wet, others were layers of glazing, paint, let it dry, add another layer of paint. The shadows are always interesting to try to capture especially with double or triple cast shadows. Sometimes, I wonder where exactly is all the the light coming from?
Ink and watercolor. These are life sized within the 7" x 7" (17.78 cm x 17.78 cm) square sketchbook format. I have this available as a card or a print.
